    什么是奋兴会?是复兴会吗?

  2. GN says:

Pastor, it seems that 3 churches’ activities are not identical. Ours are concert. Does it mean that all the emphasis will be placed on songs only on that day ? Will there be any sermon as well ? Sorry, this is the 1st time I am attending such a Evangelistic concert so need your enlightenment. Thanks !

    • gtlim says:

Will Pastor Billy care to enlighten your lamb…? :)

      • Billy Lee says:

        Hello lamb….haha.
        Good question!
Actually, the reply is: “I don’t know also”….haha

Pastor is a very spontaneous person, the “I’m not supposed to BUT…” sort of person. So, I normally allow him to flow with the Spirit and the freedom to do what he feels is the mood at that moment. But he normally sings (sometimes dance…not bad when compared to Edwin…haha) and share at the same time and give an altar call at the end.

Important thing is to start inviting your friends. I’ve sent the e-flyer out to my ex-schoolmates inviting them already. Did a funeral wake on Wed and invited the bereaved family members to come. This Sat, we will be giving out flyers to our members challenging them to invite their friends. Like pastor shared, his effort to come is worthwhile when there are many pre-believers at the concert.

      • GN says:

Hello Shepherd Billy, thanks for your enlightenment. Before seeing your comment, I have alry started inviting non-believer friends. I just told them that there is this gospel singer pastor coming to hold a concert and thank God, a few are in favour of my invitation. Somehow or rather I felt the burden to invite people despite having tremendous work-stress and migraine for these few days.

Remember I just signed up to serve on last Sat ? Once I have done so, I felt trials and obstacles have come. Pls keep me in your prayer (I will also pray and cling to God) lest I am defeated. I want to be an obedient child to God.

I believe what I am going through now, God has a purpose. His plan is to prosper me and not to harm me.

      • gtlim says:

Hey, Ps Billy, what do you mean you “don’t know also”? I thought my method has always been similar all these years? Ayoyo, you make it sound like I’m so unpredictable even during evangelistic meetings ahh…. aduh, in that case people will feel so insecure inviting friends not knowing what to expect… GN’s questions were “Does it mean that all the emphasis will be placed on songs only on that day ? Will there be any sermon as well?”….. these you surely know, right?

Dear GN, I’m a pastor, preacher, evangelist, not so much a professional singer….so I certainly don’t just sing to entertain (I don’t think my singing is so entertaining too, haha), so rest assured there will be sharing too and I’m known not to give up during altar calls till people come up, very thick-skinned or persistent in that, haha….

      • GN says:

Oh no…. Dear Mr Lim, I’ve introduced you to those of my non-believer friend as a singer and now I cannot swallow my words. They have agreed to come…Never mind, you just try your very very very best to sing to entertain on top of the most impt tasks which are to share the sermon and altar calling… :-)

      • Billy Lee says:

Haha…I do know your evangelistic style but lately there are many of the “I am not supposed to BUT…” Haha.

GN, what pastor has shared is true. He will sing and preach at the same time and you will see that people are very captivated by both, even the pre-believers. And I’ve always admired his altar calls. He is very patient and persistent and will wait until he felt enough people had come forward to receive Christ. This is something that I’ve to learn.

I feel the excitement in the church concerning this year and I know many will go all out to bring friends to this first outreach of the church. We need to pray and believe God for His mighty work! Amen!

  3. grace chan says:

Oops, sorry, i like that song very much and was searching which albums have that song. i just saw the song 钉痕的手 in your album ‘is it today’. so, no need to reply my aforesaid question. TQ! no need publish also : )

    • gtlim says:

Ya, saw that “unpublished” question and was surprised…thought you were my “ardent supporter” and how come you didn’t know that song was recorded long ago, haha!… in 1998 if I were not mistaken…

      • grace chan says:

Not only limited to past tense, but including present tense. I was and i am your ardent supporter. I am not ashamed to be called your ardent supporter. You know why?

I accepted Christ Jesus as my personal saviour on 5.5.1999 (beautiful date) right? The sister who led me said the prayer of repentance cum salvation taught me to sing 1st Christian song, which is one of your famous songs “Do not look back again”.

After i graduated, an elderly called Aunty Dorinda blessed me all your albums that she bought during your evangelistic concert at St. Michael church many many years ago. She was english educated, she do not know chinese, but she bought every album that you brought over here at that time (including your 1st album). Unfortunately, the 1st album cassette couldnt be played.

Aunty Dorinda is 68years old, she is a very faithful tambourine dancer at our church. She need prayer support now. Her husband who is a very kind, humble and friendly elder (74 years old) admitted at Singapore University Hospital, going to do operation at 2pm later. We people here respect him very much! He always pray for people. Pls uphold him in your prayer. Thanks!

My Pastor and my lady boss also blessed me DVDs of your evangelistic concert held in Singapore. Therefore 90% of your albums that i’m having now actually blessed by them. And therefore, i become your ardent supporter : )

  4. Billy Lee says:

Ha, Ps Eugene Tan of En Community is my good friend too. Same Bible school/class. Wonderful pastor (of course la…all graduates from that class turned out wonderfully….haha)

  5. Teresa Ng says:

Praise God,and i want to thanks our Pastor for bringing us with him to many countries to
serve God n shared his words. Each time during the altar calling, many will come up to the front to accept the Lord, cos they know the real God wants to bless them. The most happiest moment is when they really open their heart n called upon Jesus to be their saviour. May this trip be the greatest harvest of all……

  6. Billy Lee says:

One of my ex-schoolmates replied that he is coming to your concert with his wife. Both are pre-believers. He asked in his email:

“At the risk of being blasphemous, does the repertoire include any Hokkien genre usually found in KTVs / Karaoke songs’ lists ? On another , albeit safe note, has Susan Boyle’s rendition of “How Great Thou Art’ available in the Hokkien version ?”

He is a lawyer, your kind….haha

Can you oblige with a Hokkien rendition of “How Great Thou Art?”…haha

    • gtlim says:

      That’s a challenge… I think you can do better for that…

      • Billy Lee says:

        No need already. He replied:

“Thanks Billy for taking my email so good naturedly.
Great to note that ‘ How Great Thou Art’ is already in Mandarin. Please do not impose upon your friend/ gospel singers. Looking forward to see you on 30 January.”

  7. GN says:

Praise God…He is opening ways for me to invite those pre-believers..this is the 1st time that I opened my mouth to invite friends (Amazingly, I am very thick-skinned this time…even for those whom I am totally not in contact anymore I also begin to invite them), thank God.. so far 9 of them have agreed to come and the invitation process is on going…..a few of them are pure vegetarians who worshipped their own idols)

This noon while having my lunch at the hawker centre, an aunty approached me to share table despite having many other available tables and seats nearby…as she sat down with me together with her husband… I began to chit chat with them….then as we talked, she began sharing with me that she is the mum of the only Singaporean victim in 2002 Taiwan Air Crash…That victim was her only son…My heart sunk when I heard her sharing…My immediate response was to give her my HP no… telling her if she needs people to talk to, she can always call me….and I have invited her to this coming 30 Jan concert…assuring her that I can bring her if her husband couldn’t make it… I must really pray hard for those whom I have invited..

    • Billy Lee says:

GN, God indeed works in amazing ways. He set up divine encounters for us to reach out to lost and hurting souls. We must pray and God will work His great work in their lives. God loves them but the battle for souls is won only on our knees in prayers.

The other evening, when I was jogging near my house, I managed to chat up with another jogger when we finished. We talked for nearly an hour and I found out that he is a staunch buddhist, a vegetarian, visits temples regularly and study buddhist scriptures. I shared with him about Christ and he told me that a friend had given him a bible and he does look into it once in a while. He asked me quite a lot of questions concerning the Bible but mostly to prove that all religion are similar.

Before we parted, we exchanged phone numbers and agreed to call each other to share more about our religion. I’ll be calling him soon to talk to him again. Will be inviting him to come for the 30th Jan concert too. Please help me to pray for this guy, Mr Chai too.

      • GN says:

Ps Billy, thanks for sharing, I will add Mr Chai to my prayer name list for those invited. Can you kindly advise your lamb on my question ? You understand well that I returned to GOD by attending our church in Sep’09 so my status is rather “new”. I began to experience headaches since last week the moment when I decided to serve in church and inviting friends to concert. Is this what termed as “spiritual attacks” ? Please pray for me coz it is rather disturbing. Thanks a lot !

      • Billy Lee says:

GN, the thing to note is this: Don’t focus on these “spiritual attacks”. Focus on yr authority as daughter of the Most High God. Focus on Jesus.

Hebrews12:2a “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”

The Bible calls the devil our enemy (1 Peter 5:8). Every christian will be his enemy because we have crossed over to Jesus’ side. But the Bible tells us:

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.

We have the Holy Trinity within us, around us and above us. We are the one with the authority, the “police”. The devil is the “thief”. When we meet, the devil (the thief) flees…never the police.

Lastly, our posture as a Christian should be:

1 Cor 16:13 Be on your guard; STAND FIRM IN THE FAITH; be men of courage; be strong.

Amen! Praise the Lord and keep praising Him!

      • GN says:

Pastor, thanks for your teaching… I must learn to focus on authority and not on spiritual attacks.

      • gtlim says:

Wow! Thanks, Ps Billy, good to have you on board, so you can help me tackle some spiritual and theological questions, so I won’t sue you for copying my pose anymore, haha!….
And very appropriate for you to answer too since GN is your sheep, haha!

      • GN says:

Ps Billy… see see.. from now on no matter how you must answer my query, ok ? coz Ps Lim said I am your sheep… There won’t be anymore answer from him… Hahaha..

  8. kelly says:

    Haizz…If s 3week earlier,i can go le…
cz i stay Jurong West during holiday..haha
It’s been a long time didn’t hear you preach loh..

  9. GN says:

Wow, now Ps Billy’s photo is attached beside his name. The post sama sama Ps Lim. Is this on purpose ? Haha …

    • Billy Lee says:

Haha…never like to take photo, but at a moment’s inspiration decided to take one for this avatar. After that inspiration, came a problem – don’t know how to pose. Then, another inspiration – saw pastor’s pose and thought that since he is the best “poser” of all, might as well follow him. Guess who took the photo? My daughter…with her handphone camera….haha. She had to look at pastor’s photo a lot of times and I had to follow her instructions…quite fun…haha

Maybe we should have a competition to see who can pose closest to pastor’s pose. Mine is still not close enough. Pastor’s is very natural. Mine very stiff…that is the difference between a professional “poser” and an amateur “copier”…haha

      • GN says:

Haha, u very cute leh…. However, if u try to slant a bit more, the pose will be better. Do u care to re-take the photo ? Tonight after meeting in church, i can help u with my camera, ask the rest to give advice too then we send the photo in for competition. :-)

      • gtlim says:

Hahaha… great idea, I shall think about that and choose some difficult “poses” photos and organise a competition and let the net friends vote, should be very interesting…

      • Billy Lee says:

GN, we wait for the competition first. Then, we retake. Actually, to tell you the truth, my daughter did get me to slant my head more. We tried a lot of times but it didn’t work. Actually, it involves more than slanting the head. I think it got to do with the whole shoulder but I’m very stiff . Can’t get it right….haha but it was fun while doing it.

Pastor, yes please organize the competition. It would be fun. I’ll announce in my church and ask everyone to participate….haha

      • GN says:

Suddenly, this funny idea comes to me. Why not u two stand side by side to pose when Ps Lim is in S’pore. Ps Lim pose and Ps Billy follow… Wow, Ps Billy, I tell u, u sure win….. Hahaha…..

      • 小羊 says:

        嘻嘻。。。。。!您们俩位牧师可真有趣哦!很好玩咧!

      • Billy Lee says:

Haha…I sure win? Pastor is a professional poser. How can I win? Haha…

  10. Teresa Ng says:

Reading Ps Billy wrote on “Focus yr authority as daughter of the Most High God, Focus on Jesus”.I say Amen.It is very important,Earlier before i followed our pastor to ministry when i come back sure some things happen at home. But because of so many souls saved,i continue to follow n see more n more souls saved. That is the greatest Joy n Peace i experienced. Imagine the souls not saved going to HELL, our problems seem nothing.whenever we want to go n save souls, we need to fast n pray too. God’s will always works wonders. Amen. Praise the Lord..Nowadays no more of this problem.when we save souls…

  11. 小羊 says:

    愿这三天的布道会,让新加坡的教会都一起经历大复兴!愿上帝彰显奇迹,使您们“得人如得鱼”,阿们!

    • Billy Lee says:

Dear Xiao Yang, thank you for the blessings for Spore churches! Yes, we will pray for revival!

      • 小羊 says:

        我们也会一起为您们及我们的牧师祷告。愿圣灵的烈火降临,来复兴所有的教会!阿们!

    • Alison says:

Xiao Yang, I will also pray together for our Pastor and the churches in S’pore.

  12. 莉莉 says:

    林牧师,

    请问今年会来吉隆坡或槟城吗?

  13. GN says:

May I know will the sermon contents be the same for the 3 churches ? Thanks !

    • gtlim says:

      Pastor Bily, please help, hahaha….

      • GN says:

Aiyoyo…. Ps GT, you huh ? nowadays when I ask you question, you will roll the ball to our Ps Billy…. Ok lah… next time, any question I also direct to Ps Billy… (Ps Billy, your friend really bully you hor, poor thing)

      • Billy Lee says:

haha, GN…like I said, lately pastor has the “I was not supposed to BUT…” kind of anointing, so you never know….haha

      • GN says:

Ps Billy….now I begin to believe what you said already…Ps GT is indeed an unpredictable person. Unlike last time, he will now ask you to answer my question on his behalf… Sigh !

      • gtlim says:

Because ahh… I don’t know how to answer your question ahh…

      • GN says:

Ps GT, Ok lah.. I accept your explanation that you don’t know how to answer….I was thinking better leave some words towards your reply before you start to think I am “offended” again… As what Ps Billy had said before…you really don’t know me well yet …. Hahaha….

Actually, I have my reason for asking you the question. As I am a sermon craver and also like to copy sermon notes, I was thinking if the sermons for 3 churches are different, I might attend all the 3 services. Since I cannot get an answer now, I presume they are the same and will just attend the one in our church as Jurong is far from my house.

Anyway, thanks for your reply !

      • gtlim says:

Ok, GN, here is “Getting To Know GT Lim” Lesson 1 – people around me all know sometimes I just ignore them or purposely don’t answer when it is an obvious question, I do that to train them to be sharper and more observant… for eg. my meetings in S’pore: some are evangelistic and one is clearly stated to be “revival” meeting, so….?

      • GN says:

Ps GT, Hahaha… I got you now…Thanks for the clue.. So sorry.. I think this is the 2nd time that I have failed the “observant” test….. Sigh :-(

Hmm… I think so far I have attended 3 lessons of ““Getting To Know GT Lim” ” through “E-Learning” from your blog (coz I don’t know you at all). Ok, give you a quick recap..

        Lesson 1
        ========
GT Lim is a task-oriented person.
“ya, they say I’m very task-oriented… I’d rather tell someone honestly I don’t want certain things than to have them waste their effort, time and money to get me something which I don’t really need…”

        Lesson 2
        ========
GT Lim doesn’t like people to “tong pang”
“it’s not the weight that bothers me, it’s the “ma-huan-ness” of the obligation to remember to pass on the thing, to pack, unpack and look for that person etc etc and very honestly, I don’t enjoy that….”

        Lesson 3
        ========
So… this is the lesson 3 and not lesson 1. But …the “I just ignore them or purposely don’t answer”…thank GOD, you
didn’t do that to me…haha…you did reply “Because ahh… I don’t know how to answer your question ahh…” and I appreciate that….

        Lesson 4
        ========
Welcome you to Singapore next week, anymore lesson 4 for me on-the-spot or you still have many more lessons in your store ?? haha… :-)

Well… I am lacking in “observation”… and I must pray for improvement in this area…. care to help to pray for me too ? —-> I guess your immediate reply might be “Pastor Billy, care to pray for your Lamb”…… Hahaha (Just kidding huh, no offence pls)

      • gtlim says:

        Hahaha, well done, GN!

      • Billy Lee says:

Hahaha…GN, you summarized your observations very well. They are very helpful to others who are trying to figure out our dear pastor Actually, he needs quite a lot of figuring out….hahaha but after you unravel him, you would discover he is a kind and nice pastor.

      • gtlim says:

Hey, what are you implying…. after you unravel him, only then discover he is kind and nice???? I thought I am very kind and nice, unravelled or otherwise! Haha!

      • Billy Lee says:

        Haha…unravelled nice, ravelled nicer la…haha.

      • GN says:

Ps GT, I really “well done” ?? Do I deserve to be given a prize now or should I continue to attend more lessons ?? If there is a prize, I have a very simple request.. Can you pls don’t give me those “ready-stock” coffee powder that you have in your domestic kopitiam ? I am a coffee-lover but I am “ma-huan” when comes to drinking coffee…. But one thing to add is that I am a “people-oriented” person so in general, when people do offer me coffee, I will drink (even though it is not nice) coz I always appreciate what people has done. :-)

      • gtlim says:

Err… are you implying that I don’t appreciate wht people have done? Haha! Lesson No. 4 : Be careful when you talk to a “lawyer”, haha…
But honestly, this is me, when I want to give people something, I want the thing to really and truly and actually BLESS them, meaning they will find good use to it rather than given an added burden to think what to do with that thing at home… that is why I am very honest with my people esp the young people I am training, to give the right stuff to people always, otherwise money and time wasted which can actually be a real blessing otherwise…

    • GN says:

Oops.. so fast you are giving me a lesson 4 now ? I thought you will only give me next week ? Aiyoyo, Mr Lawyer, I am so sorry.. pls don’t sue me, ok ? Hmm.. I think you are a bit sensitive (I am not talking about you lah). Great ! you have given me an idea now. Perhaps I should start to observe and comment about the “flaws” of our Ps GT. Should you be giving me lesson no.5 next week, please don’t let the lesson be “yelling at me in public for saying the wrong thing”…. (hahaha… btw, you still don’t know who I am, so I am in a better position than you)

  14. Alison says:

Hi GN, sorry I could not make it to S’pore this time. I am going to miss your ice-cream >.< . Ps Billy is a strong man, he could not be bully by our Pastor who is always so gentle(only got loud and fierce voice lah….^_^)) )

    • GN says:

Hi Alison, no problem…if you happen to come anytime, do let me know and it is my pleasure to buy you ice-cream… :-)

      • Alison says:

Sure, I will arrange with my Sales Development Manager to let me go to S’pore to have a cross-training then I don’t have to apply for leave, can learn from our TW colleagues and at the same time can have the ice-cream. One stone kills 3 birds..ha..ha..

      • gtlim says:

Nope, no, no, no ice-cream for Alison please, for various reasons…

      • GN says:

Alison, I very “cham” leh, “tong-pang” cannot, now buy ice-cream for you also cannot……. but…….. I believe Ps GT has your ultimate interest at heart for forbidding me to buy you ice-cream. If either way cannot work, don’t worry, ok, I find one chance to fly to Kuching over the weekend to visit you… then we go jalan jalan and makan makan…..You take good care of your health first so that when I come, we can fulfil what we want to do…

    • GN says:

Alison, just read that you are ill….do take good care and may GOD’s blessings be with you always… I will pray for you too ….

      • Alison Yu says:

GN, thanks a lot for your concern. I will give you my time and bring you around Kuching when you come. Pastor knows his sheeps well….if he says no means no. We are obedient sheeps also..ha..ha..

      • GN says:

No problem, Alison. We are sisters-in-Christ and must always care for one another. I understand your pastor has your interest at heart, that’s why I kept quiet about the ice-cream already, haha…

Btw, have your read those comments in the “jogging” blog ? I find those children very adorable. They not only love to talk to your pastor but also care very much for him. Maybe they still do not know that your pastor has a good friend in S’pore, Ps Billy and I believe Ps Billy is a good care-taker…maybe by the time your pastor goes back, they will see a “white white fat fat” pastor… hahaha…

  15. GN says:

Ps GT, you ever told me you do have relatives in S’pore so for this trip, I guess you might also bring your nonya beauty along, right ?

  16. Alison says:

“White white fat fat”??!! No way GN…..we prefer our Pastor to be the way he was when he left for S’pore….ha..ha.. Pastor go jogging with Ps Billy as he has promised to bring you.

  17. Teresa Ng says:

Thanks God for everything he has bless us.And may he continue to bless all the pastors n their sheeps.AMEN.

  18. Carol Cheung says:

    Dear Pastor,

May I know your schedule in early April? FYI, I will arrive Kuching from Hong Kong on 30 March, leaving on 5 April and will visit your church during that period. Will you be in town? I have a relative named George who is the member of your church.

  19. gtlim says:

    是很希望。。。但我在台湾好像不太受欢迎耶。。。没什么邀约。。。

  20. ESTHER CHIANG says:
